“All characters are on the same morphological pattern and each carries this enigmatic red case in quest of his own destiny. Their sumo-like bodies dressed in business suits are meant to symbolize contemporary individuals in a prosperous society.

This red case is attached to each individual as an incorporated part of him which materializes his human “capital”, that is his current assets made up of his intrinsic self, enriched with his past experience, and also his potentiality. The red color is redolent of insecurity, hazard and subsequently vulnerability. It is synonymous with fragility, hence its preciousness and the essential role it plays in the representation.

One character will hold it tight, fighting against the wind. In that particular representation, the artist places emphasis on Man using his mental and physical abilities to oppose a powerful and invisible fundamental element of nature. Another character will utilize the red case as a means to protect himself from that same element in order to keep moving forward. In this event, the red case materializes the character’s unflagging determination.

All characters are bare foot as if to remind of the existing physical rapport between Man and Earth. The feet are deliberated exaggerated to accentuate the motion whereby Man is a descendant of Earth. The hands are also exaggerated in size so as to express the tremendous power man has over all. Man can get things done through pure will, might and determination.

The different dynamic and forceful postures from one character to another set off the individuality dimension within Man. Each character tackles life in his own way.”
